2nd night...

Judah doesn't know how to self soothe and has been waking up several times a night---and each time I'd immediately go in there when I'd start to hear him cry and once he saw me, he wanted to nurse. Jared and I have decided to let him learn how to put himself back to sleep. Two nights ago he cries for quite a bit, around 11, then fell back asleep and slept until 7. Wow!!!!! Last night he woke up and cried for a few minutes, fell back to sleep and *I* woke him up at 8!!!! I hope to stick to the plan, as it seems as though Judah is ready for it. Here's what I saw this morning :)

Feeling Better Friday

Well, our house have been ravaged with disease.  Wednesday night I felt slightly nauseous so I went into the bathroom.  Fast forward to 3 hours later, laying on the bathroom floor with baby blankets because I had insane chills, and being so out of it my eyes were rolling back into my head...I somehow got into bed with my "bucket".  Jared then told me he didn't feel well and he spent the remainder of the night doing the same stuff I had.  Thankfully, because it hit us both so quickly and without warning, Jared was feeling fine and was able to get my bed made up and Judah to sleep before he ended up coming down with "it".

Because Judah has been throwing up since Tuesday-ish, we called the doctor and he called into the pharmacy for some suppositories to help control the vomiting.  If it continued, we were to take him into the ER for IV fluids.  Thankfully, we all seem to be doing better today, Judah's back to walking (yes, walking!!) around whining, Jared's playing video games, and I was able to make my family some "sick" soup before having to lay back down and catch up on Real Housewives on Hulu.

It's a bummer because tonight is the big date night out, at church, for married people and we've been looking forward to going for over a month now. If someone fills our spot, we'll get our money back, which will be a blessing, but it's hard not to have a pessimistic outlook since we had to cancel on such short notice.

Speaking of money, our accountant called today to tell us about our tax return. We only owe about 1/4 of what Jared actually had allotted for so that means we'll be able to or very close to being able to pay off his work van!

One more thing checked off the "pre-conception baby check list"!

One thing I have enjoyed out of this whole sickness ordeal is being able to cuddle Judah and have him sleep in my arms. When he's out in the living room with Jare, he'll come up to the bedroom door and start banging on it, talking, whining, or crying as to say "let me in!". It's amazing that he knows, now, where I am when he doesn't see me. I open the door, of course I don't mind a little extra company :)

Here are a few shots from last night.

A post not for the squeamish!

This morning I went into Judah's room to find his entire crib full of throw up. Full. All over his toys, in between the bumper and bed... on the floor... He was fine all day though; we even went to the store and did our normal routine.

Tonight as I was cleaning up the kitchen from dinner, Judah was toddling around the dining room and every minute or two, I'd lean over the gate and hand him a raspberry to munch on. As I leaned over, he projectile vomited straight at, onto, and into the china closet. Again, acting totally normal though, just a little nervous about what just happened. Jared cleaned up the mess and I got him in the tub, then out and ready for bed. I nursed him and he pulled off and acted like he was about to fall asleep---then he threw up alllllll over me. He was cradled in my arms so it flew up to my neck, chest, to my jeans. Poor babe. Into the shower we both go.

We got him ready for bed again and he was walking all around. He walked from our bedroom, around the laundry basket, and all the way out into the living room without falling! That's the furthest to date!

Pray for his little tummy and that whatever it is passes. Although he seems happy on the outside, throwing up that much and that many times cannot be comfortable!!

Hooray for mobile blogging!

I just downloaded the Blogger app-- I think this is going to be key in keeping a much better record of what's going on since I rarely have a chunk of time to sit down at the computer, but always have my phone with me.

Yesterday, we went to the library to pick out some new books, some kids DVDs, and get a change of scenery. Judah made some friends. He was playing at he train table (well, taking all the tracks and trains OFF the table haha I guess we'll need to work on that!) and a little girl came over to talk to him and teach him how to use the trains, and tracks, and how to build things. She showed him the busy beads and later the Lego table. Then a little boy I had in nursery while I was pregnant walked over-- out of no where--and gave Judah a hug. They played together for a bit, too! I'm grateful for the library, the chance to go somewhere and participate in free activities, and hopefully meet people.

On another note, Judah had his first haircut yesterday as well. He did great! There are a few little spots where Mr. Jake slipped with the buzzer, but over all it looks good....except the fact that my baby looks like a little boy now. We just wrapping up breakfast now, so I'm excited to put him in the tub and see how easy it is to wash his hair now. It was SO long :)

Developmentally, Judah says uh ohhhhhh when he drops something, still LOVES music and dances to it when it comes on, and tries to sing an hum. It's so sweet.

He can walk halfway across the room and stand on his own, but only does it a few times a day because crawling is much more efficient, of course.

Well, moving on now.
